Elected intendant September 14, 1801, succeeding Thomas Roper. Succeeded by David Deas, September 1802.
Born 1767, died September 19, 1816, buried in Trinity Churchyard, New York City.
Son of Joshua Ward and Sarah McCall, married Mary Somersall 1793.
Attorney, admitted to bar in 1787.
Represented St. John's, Colleton, Parishes in State House during four General Assemblies, 1791-1797, and in State Senate from 1798-1809.
