JOSEPH PATRICK RILEY, JR.

Elected mayor December 9, 1975, succeeding Arthur B. Schirmer, Jr. Re-elected 1983, 1987, 1991, 1995, 1999, 2003, and 2007.
Born 1943, son of Joseph Patrick Riley and Helen Schachte, married Charlotte Douglas DeLoach, 1966.
Graduate of Bishop England High School (1960), The Citadel (1964) and University of South Carolina School of Law (1967).
Served three terms in South Carolina House of Representatives, 1969-1973.
